8.7 RELIABILITY FAULTS:

NOISE WHEN DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE

CHECK AND TEST 1

Step 1

Check to verify whether door and shelves are
in normal position,
and whether there is abnormal friction between food packages and appliance walls.

CHECK AND TEST 2

Step 1

If everything in step 1 is ok, the noise is certainly coming from a hinge.
Listen carefully to detect whether noise is coming from top, middle, or bottom hinge.

Step 2

Use a small brush to add Vaseline to hinge pins and hinge holes.

Open and close door several times.

Step 1

Unscrew hinge cover.

Step 2

Remove the cover.

Step 3

Disconnect the terminals.

Step 4

Unscrew 2 bolts and remove the top hinge.

Step 5

Remove upper door.

Step 6

Loosen the middle hinge and remove it.

Step 7

Remove freezer door and replace with new one. Reverse above steps to install the new door

Step 8

Tilt cabinet.

Step 9

Unscrew the adjustable foot.

Step 10

Unscrew 4 bolts and remove bottom hinge.

Reverse procedures above to restore hinges and doors, however, please pay attention to the following tips:

Tip 1

Don’t forget to add washer onto hinge pin.

Tip 2

When installling door onto hinge, please check the match between door- stopper and hinge.

Tip 3

When installling door onto hinge, please check the match between door- stopper and hinge.

Tip 4

Make sure gaps between doors are even.

CHECK AND TEST 3

Step 1

Check to see if there are burrs on pins.

Step 2

Polish the pin.
